The Lagos State Government has restated its commitment to support Military and Paramilitary organizations to maintain security and peace in the country.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, gave the assurance in an interview with newsmen shortly after the Parade and Laying of Wreaths to commemorate the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, held at the Remembrance Arcade, Tafawa Balewa Square, on Lagos Island.

Governor Sanwo-Olu vowed to always remember those who fell while defending the country with words of encouragement for those still serving the nation to safeguard the citizens.

While commending and appreciating the fallen heroes for laying their lives to protect the country and ensure peace, Governor Sanwo-Olu, prayed for the repose of the souls of the fallen heroes and that God should grant their families the fortitude to bear the loss.

Muslim and Christian Clerics also prayed for the nation, Lagos, the leaders and residents, while different paramilitary officers sang solemn songs in memory of the fallen heroes.

The highpoint of the ceremony was the laying of wreath at the remembrance arcade, twenty-one gun salutes and release of pigeons and balloons into the air.
