As Ondo state prepares for another governorship election, one of the leading aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Olusola Oke, SAN, says he is confident of picking the party’s ticket to emerge number one citizen of the state.
Chief Oke, a one time member of the Niger Delta Development Comission, NDDC, representing Ondo state said his antecedents stand him out from all other aspirants, jostling for the number one position in the state.
Oke during a chat with journalists in Akure, Ondo state posited that he had the capacity to provide the right leadership for the state having served in various political offices both at the state and national levels.
“I believe very strongly that what will determine the next governor of Ondo state is antecedents, what you have been able to do with power when you had the opportunity.” He stated
Chief Oke said he had lived with the people of Ondo state and fully aware of their plights as well as solution to every challenge facing them, hence, his determination to serve them was borne out of passion not only to give them a better life but to also put the state on a pedestal of economic fortune and steady progress.
Chief Oke stressed that his vast experience in legal practice and politics would be an added advantage as this would be brought to bear in governance if given the opportunity to serve as the governor of Ondo state.
The Ilaje-born politician expressed confidence in getting the support of President Bola Tinubu and the APC at the national level to clinch the ticket of the party ahead of the November governorship poll in view of his immense contributions to the party and Ondo state.
“One thing I’m sure of is that President Tinubu will consider popularity, acceptability, he would consider capacity and many factors that will not only make the party to win but make it excell in governance. I am convinced that when these factors are put on the table, I’m hands higher than the other aspirants.” Oke said.
