FC Challenge continued their preparations for their league campaign with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Princestar Football Academy.

In a closely contested encounter at the Obafemi Awolowo stadium, Liberty, Ibadan, FC Challenge showcased their fighting spirit and tactical prowess, securing the win and setting the tone for their league campaign.

Midfielder Matthew Ariyo, who was in scintillating form, won a penalty in the 20th minute, which he converted to give FC Challenge the lead.

FC Challenge doubled their lead in the second half, when Ganiyu Ayuba capitalised on a defensive error to slot the ball into the back of the net.

However, Princestar Football Academy refused to give up and continued to push for a goal, but were denied on several occasions by the in-form FC Challenge goalkeeper, Obafemi Faniran.

Princestar’s resilient eventually paid off when they scored what would be a consolation goal as the game ended 2-1 in favour of FC Challenge.

It would be recalled that FC Challenge had last month lost back to back games against Brightville Football Academy and Champions Olympic Sports Club.
