Hundreds of sympathisers, family members, political associates, converged on St Andrew church Imola,Owo Ondo state for the Wake of the late former governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The Anglican bishop of Akure diocese, Right Rev’d Simeon Borokini while taking his sermon from the book of Acts 13:36 with the theme “A life of purpose”.
likened late Mr Akeredolu to the biblical king David.
The cleric charged the congregation especially political office holders to at all times live a selfless life and life worthy of emulation.
In a tribute, a former minister of state for transport, Prince Ademola Adegoroye described late governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as a man with vision whose effort led to the approval of a deep sea port for Ondo state.
Prince Ademola Adegoroye further appealed to governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to actualise plans of making the deep port functional.
Also, Chief Justice of Nigeria Justice Olukayode Ariwoola represented by Justice Keji Ogunwunmiju described late Mr Akeredolu as a courageous man whose mark in the law profession could not be forgotten.
Dignitaries present at the church included Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa , deputy governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, wife of the former governor of Ekiti state Mrs Bisi Fayemi,Speaker Ondo state house of assembly Mr Olamide Oladiji,Chairman APC in Ondo state Mr Ade Adetimehin among others.
