Residents of Aleo and IMOLUMO QUARTERS in lgoba town , Akure North have protested attempted forceful takeover of their landed property.

The residents who carried different placards said they were shocked when bulldozer was driven to the community and started pulling down buildings and destroying farm crops.

The residents who alleged one Mr Peter Komolafe of being behind their ordeal described the action as wicked and callous.

Two of them who spoke with newsmen , Mr Kolade Bakare and Mrs Rachel Adeniran claimed they purchased their property legitimately with necessary documents backing them up.

Speaking on the matter , the Olu of Aleo , High Chief Abdul Fatai enjoined the residents not to take laws into their hands as the case would be addressed.

In a chat with Positive FM, the Obalogun of Igoba , Oba Adeniyi Adinlewa appealed for urgent government intervention to prevent bloodshed in the area.

Oba Adinlewa expressed sadness that despite the fact that the case over the disputed land was still pending in court and the court ruled that the status quo should remain , the perpetrators still went ahead to destroy innocent residents’ property.

He said that as law abiding citizens , the residents were prevailed upon not to take to violence but protested peacefully .

Oba Adinlewa then asked the Ondo State government and security agencies to intervene in the crisis so as not to escalate.
