The Tunji Light Ariyomo Foundation has rewarded eight boys of Acquinas college Akure, for their ingenuity in nine invitational relay games across the country.
The atmosphere at the school was that of celebration as the eight boys filed out one after the other to receive the cheque of twenty five thousand naira each from the sponsor, Mr Tunji Light Ariyomo during the brief ceremony which held on the Assembly ground.
The beneficiaries are: Oladimeji Samuel, Adelusi Divine, Adaramola Ebenezer, Ikuopenikan Taiwo, Ikuopenikan Kehinde, Balogun Odunayo, James Ayomide,Oluwadunmiye Opeyemi.
Presenting cheques of two hundred thousand naira to the boys at the school premises in Akure, the founder, Engr Tunji Light Ariyomo FNSE, said he was happy giving back to his alma mater, having graduated from the school in 1988.
Engr Ariyomo who said giving back to his alma mater was fulfilling for him commended the students for lifting the banner of the school high by coming first in all the nine invitational relay games.
While charging other students to write their names in gold, the philantropist promised not to relent in supporting the school that moulded him many years ago.
“I was once like you. This school was my foundation. Perhaps I would have been a different person today but for Aquinas College. Build your character. Aspire to be the best. Hard work has no substitute. Be creative. You have the capacity and ability to surpass whatever feat we might have achieved”.

“I’ve been here on several occasions to present merit based scholarship as well indigent based scholarship, we’ve done that severally but what I have never done is providing support to pupils of Acquinas college that have actually excelled in the area of sports and we have done that today, so that is purely the motivation, it will go round. I have no doubt that other old students will also step up to the occasion. Aquinas college will train you to be an all rounder” Ariyomo said.
Engr Ariyomo called on other old students of Acquinas college Akure to reach out to the school in their own little ways.
The school principal, Chief Adebisi Jimbola appreciated Mr Ariyomo for motivating the students at all times especially through scholarship urging other old students of the school under the umbrella of ACAOSA to emulate such gesture.

Responding on behalf of other beneficiaries, Divine Adelusi said the gesture by Mr Ariyomo would inspire them to win more laurels for the school.
Jimbola said “I’m particularly grateful to Engr Tunji Light Ariyomo for honouring our students for good performance in atheletes”
Master Adelusi thanked the school for providing the platform for them to showcase their talents.
The school’s Sports Director Mrs. Lizzy Sam-Obafemi and the Game Instructor, Olalekan Ogundaisi who is also an alumnus benefited from the TLA foundation’s gesture.
Ogundaisi in his reaction said, “the athletes are doing well and the gesture would spur them to do more”.
