Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun has lambasted the state chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) over the claim that N18 billion was used to renovate the Government House, Oke-Fia.

Adeleke on Saturday moved into the Government House after renovation, noting that the APC-led administration left the place in decay.

However, APC tackled the governor, saying the rehabilitation was a misplaced priority.

In his reaction, Adeleke on Tuesday, March 19, also debunked the claim that his administration got a loan to implement N100 billion infrastructure plans for the state.

The governor through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said that the APC lied that the present administration had taken a loan of N10billion to implement current infrastructure programmes across the state.

He said: “We reject fake news that the state government spent 18 billion naira on the renovation of the Government House. It is a figment of the imagination of failed men of yesterday. Rather than sponsoring falsehood, we urge the APC to accept it failed while it governed Osun state and it should be brave enough to commend the present government for succeeding where it recorded mass failure.

“We affirm once again that the current government has not taken any loan since inception to pursue any programme or project. The project in question is a multi-billion naira expenditure spread over time designed to bridge the huge infra deficit the governor inherited from APC. Adeleke restated his commitment to implementing the infra projects without loans as a way of drawing investors to Osun and boosting the local economy in line with the administration’s five-point agenda.”
