No fewer than four buildings were on Wednesday morning engulfed by fire that broke out at the popular Idumota area of Lagos.
The structures affected are House number 49 which has collapsed as a result of the intensity of the fire, number 47, 51 and 53 where the inferno later spread to.
The structures are two storey buildings, a storey and a three storey building.
The Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs. Margaret Adeseye said that emergency response teams would further contain the spread of the fire in spite of the combustible materials in some of the buildings.
Mrs. Adeseye noted that the combustible items including fire crackers were triggering the fire at intervals.
No loss of life in the incident and there has been significant reduction in the intensity of the blaze.
