All offices under Senior Staff Association of Nigeria University, SSANU in Federal University of Technology Akure , FUTA are shut as the union’s seven day warning strike progresses.

The strike which started on Monday was declared to press for payment of unpaid salary arrears owed members of the union.

The strike also led to the partial closure of one of the school’s main gate , the FUTA South gate by members of the Union.

Speaking with Positive FM Akure, the SSANU FUTA chairman, Comrade Felix Adunbi said the protest at the gate was to create awareness for the public to know that some sections of the university were on strike.

Comrade Adunbi pointed out that after the warning strike, the Union would go back to the drawing board to fashion out the next action if the government failed to comply.

Meanwhile lectures were held as the classrooms were opened for lectures.

Two of the students, Tunji Adebayo and Gloria Tope appealed to the Federal government to ensure that universities did not go through stress of strike again which often negatively affect students.
