The Ondo State Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun Corps says it has foiled a major armed robbery plot on three commercial banks and attempted kidnap of Supermarket owners in the state.
To this end, the security agency arrested one of the seven bank robbery syndicates, Fatai Bami in Ore, while it is currently on the trail of the remaining six suspects.
The commander of the State Amotekun Corps, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed this to newsmen in Akure, while parading thirty seven suspected criminals apprehended across the state in the last few days.
Chief Adeleye explained that the gang of six robbers came from Sapele in Delta State with Mr Bami as an accomplice, with the aim of attacking three banks in Ondo State, adding that security agencies would still track down the six suspects who were now at large.
The Amotekun commander said the gang also plotting to kidnap the managing director of a Big supermarket in the state but it was also foiled.
While assuring the people of the state that their security would be given priority, Chief Adeleye noted that the corps is focusing on intelligence gathering on crimes prevention across the state.
