The Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi has approved the payment of One Million Naira subsidy for each prospective Pilgrim from the state to perform this year’s Hajj under the State Pilgrims welfare Board.

The Director General of the jigawa State Pilgrims welfare Board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo disclosed this to Radio Nigeria in Dutse, the state capital.

According to him, the Governor took the decision with regards to the recent increase of the Hajj Fares by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON which was attributed to the instability of forex exchange rate.

“There are people who already made their complete payments, but suddenly there was an increment in the Hajj fares, the increase of Hajj Fares is a great challenge to many intending Pilgrims”

Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo urged all intending Pilgrims from the state to ensure that they pay the remaining balance of over nine hundred and eighteen thousand naira to the board.

The Director General pointed out that those to benefit from the Hajj Subsidy are those who have already paid part payment to the Board.

NAHCON had announced the increase of Hajj Fares with N1,918,032.91 which make the total Hajj Fares to 6,617,032.91.
