An agreement has been signed between the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON and the airlines selected to transport Nigerian pilgrims during this year’s hajj.
On the occasion at the Hajj House, Abuja, the Chairman of the commission, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi called on the airlines to make the security and welfare of the pilgrims a priority.
Malam Arabi said as airlines that have participated in hajj operations in the past, the expectations for them to discharge their duties diligently and professionally were high.
In a remark, the NAHCON Commissioner, in-charge of operations, Alhaji Anofi Elegushi expressed the belief that the signing of the agreement would result in an impactful experience for the pilgrims.
On his part, the Director, Aedrome and Airspace Standard of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, gave an assurance of successful hajj operations.
Two airlines: Max Air and Air Peace signed the agreement, while Flynas is expected to sign later today.
Meanwhile, the total number of Nigerians that will be participating in this year’s hajj is also expected to be announced today by the NAHCON Chairman, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi.
