In response to the declaration of Tuesday 9th April and Wednesday 10th April,2024 as public holidays by the Federal government in celebration of Eid-el-fitr, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ondo has deployed 800 crack squad of the Command to provide Security in the State.
The State Commandant, Ibiloye Oluyemi made this known while addressing officers and men at the weekly muster parade today, Monday 8th April, 2024.
According to the Commandant, proactive measure through an operational order has been issued to all heads of formations and tactical units instructing them to ensure adequate security coverage for both human and material assets and also to prevent any untoward incidents within the state.
Commandant Ibiloye advised the general public to report any suspicious movement or gathering of persons to the Command through the Command communication channels.
“The NSCDC Ondo Command under my watch is ready to ensure safety of lives, safeguarding of critical national assets and infrastructure and respond promptly to emergencies.To be able to do these and more, we will need your support in area of actionable information’.
The deployment of operatives is aimed at discouraging potential criminal activities and to also provide security coverage for residents of the state with a watertight security in all the praying grounds in the 18 local governments of the state.
The tactical patrol teams from the Operations department, Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) and Armed Squad Unit would ensure adequate patrol of the State before, during and after the festive period.
The Commandant congratulate the Muslim faithfuls on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and encourage them to imbibe the spirit of the season by showing love and practice the lessons learnt during the holy month.
