This was the view of some workers in Akure, Ondo state as the world commemorates this year’s safety and health at work day with the theme” the impacts of climate change on occupational safety and hazard
As climate change intensifies, workers around the globe find themselves at the risk of exposure to hazard such as excessive heat, radiation, air pollution, air-borne diseases especially from agrochemicals.
According to report, an average person spends almost one third of their life time in the work place.

Mr Amos said that despite the law protecting workers there was little or no implementation of the policy.
Are employers of Labour living up to expectation in safeguarding the lives of their employees? Two media workers in Ondo state, Mr Ganiu saheed and Emmanuel kayode lamented the hazards they faced while on duty especially exposure to radiation from different equipment, a situation medical experts have identified as injurious
To halt the trend, A medical practitioner in Akure, Ondo State, Dr Bisi Agbaje noted that it was easier to prevent an hazard than manage accident which would have an effect on the family in the long-run.
Dr Agbaje called on employers to ensure that workers were trained regularly on health safety, while the provision of first aid box, and water should be giving priority by every organization .
The world safety and health at work day, commemorated every 28th of April is to advocate prevention of occupational accident and diseases at work place globally as declared by the international labour organization ILO since 2003
