Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has dismantled a notorious burglary syndicate responsible for series of breaking into warehouses, stores, and supermarkets at Apalara Area, along Al-Hikma University Road in Ilorin.

 

According to the Command’s spokesperson, Mr Michael Ayoola, acting on reliable intelligence, crack detectives from the command’s tracking unit apprehended two suspects: Garuba Kabir, 28, and Nasir Raheem, 30.

Stolen Items

He explained that the arrest followed reports from shop owners in the Apalara area on repeated burglaries resulting in loss of valuable items worth millions of naira.

 

The suspects were said to have recently targeted four shops along New Yidi Road, Irewolede in Ilorin, stealing goods of significant value.

 

Further investigation led detectives to the gang’s storage location, where they recovered stolen goods, including food items, phone accessories, and solar gadgets.

 

Meanwhile, Kwara State Commandant of the Civil Defense Corps, Dr Umar Mohammed, reaffirmed the command’s dedication to checking criminal activities in the state.

 

The Commandant called on the public to support the Corps by providing credible information in the ongoing effort to tackle and prevent crime effectively.
