Properties worth millions of Naira have been destroyed by a midnight fire that affected five lock-up containers in Olofin Area of Idanre in Ondo State.
The source of the fire was unknown as at the time of filing this report.
One of the affected traders, Mr. Ayo Akintunde, amid tears, lamented that his motorcycle spare parts shop which he stocked with half a million naira was reduced to rubble.
Mr Akintunde appealed to government for urgent assistance.
Another victim, Mrs Nike Akindulureni, a seller of clothes, leather bags, shoes and other materials lamented that she lost goods worth sixteen million naira to the inferno.
Mrs Akindulureni who said she funded her business with loans pleaded for government assistance to enable him recover from the loss.
Two other victims, Mrs Joy Matthew said she lost goods worth five million Naira from the capital realized from her husband and loans while Mrs Kehinde Adesuyan noted that the bales of second hand clothes she recently bought for sale were burnt to ashes.
Reacting, the Iyaloja of Idanre land, Princess Nike Aroloye Akingboye, called for the establishment of a fire station in Idanre as this would go a long way in minimising the impact of fire incidents.
