The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Ondo state chapter has appealed to eligible voters in the state, especially women to participate in the ongoing INEC continuous voter registration, CVR ahead of the November 16 governorship election in the state

In a statement jointly signed by the Association’s chairperson, Comrade Tola Gbadamosi and Secretary, Comrade Oluwatosin Ighoteguono, NAWOJ urges  residents who are now 18 years old and above to use the opportunity of the ongoing exercise to register while those who have issues with their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs will also get them replaced so as not to be disenfranchised during the election.

Ondo NAWOJ appeals to those who are yet to collect their voter cards to do so during the ongoing CVR.

The association calls on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to meet the deadline of registering all eligible voters in Ondo state to enable them to perform their civic responsibility during the November 16 governorship poll and future elections in the state.

It also urges INEC to give prompt attention to pregnant women, the elderly, persons with disabilities and those with health challenges during the registration process.
