…..says over 20,000 new registrants recorded in Ondo so far in the CVR exercise

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC says over twenty thousand new registrants have been recorded in the Continuous Voter Registration, CVR exercise ahead of the November 16th Governorship Election in Ondo State.

INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Akure.

Prof Yakubu said he was in Ondo State to monitor the CVR exercise and level of preparedness of the Commission for the Governorship election.

The INEC Chairman told journalists that 17 political parties will be participating in the November 16th Governorship Election and have uploaded their Candidates and running mates names and credentials on INEC Portal.

He promised that INEC will continue to improve on conducting credible, free, fair and acceptable elections in Nigeria.

INEC was received at the Akure Airport by the National Commissioner in charge of Ondo, Osun and Ogun, Prof Kunle Ajayi, Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Mrs Oluwatoyin Babalola and other top officials.
