Ondo State government has approved the reconstruction of Akure sports complex at the cost the sum of Nine hundred and eighty million naira
Speaking with newsmen in Akure, the state commissioner for sports , Mr Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye disclosed that the approval would end numerous infrastructural challenges at the sports complex .
The commissioner expressed delight over the new development noting the upgrade would include the construction of a new tartan track for athletes, renovation of volleyball and basketball court among others.
Mr Ogunleye said the main bowl of the Akure sports complex would also be upgraded to avoid constant issues with the Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL facility inspection team.
Also Speaking , commissioner for lands and housing , Mr Akinwunmi Sowore announced all logistics for the renovation of the facilities had been captured and work would commence soon.
