A youngman , Mr Ayo Oluwasanmi was on Friday crushed to death by an articulated vehicle in a fatal accident at the network area along Lagos- Ibadan expressway in ilesa, Osun state.

A witness, Mr Taiwo Oludare, told Radio Nigeria that the lone accident occurred this afternoon when the articulated vehicle with number plate LAGOS GGE 939 XT coming from Akure axis suddenly lost control and rammed into some shops located along the expressway..

He explained that the deceased, who had a bottled water factory was busy selling bags of satchet water to the shop owners, unaware of the danger behind him.

Mr Oludare noted that it took the combined efforts of passersby and men of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC to rescue three children, who were playing outside their mother’s shop that were trapped under the trailer.

Also speaking, a welder, Mr John Oladipo, whose shop was located along the expressway appealed to the federal road safety commission to caution motorists against overspeeding and taking one way.

 

He observed that the situation would have been more disastrous if the articulated vehicle had spilled its content.

As at the time of filing this report, the commander of the FRSC, ilesa unit could not be reached for comment.

However, the children, who sustained injuries have been taken to the Wesley Guild Hospital, ilesa, while the corpse has been deposited at the mortuary.
