The 2024 Olympic Day celebrations will be held in 16 states and Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
They states are Abia, Anambra, Bayelsa, Ondo, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Gombe, Kogi, Ebonyi, Taraba, Plateau, Adamawa, Osun Enugu and Imo.
According to a statement released by, Public Relations Officer of the NOC, Tony Nezianya, a series of physical fitness and recreational activities will be organised, including aerobic exercises and other side attractions.
Celebrated annually to commemorate the birth of the Olympic movement , the Olympic Day, will take place on Saturday, June 29th, 2024.
Parts of the event will be an energetic aerobic exercise session, where participants of all ages are invited.
The organizers have also planned a talent hunt within the festivities to uncover the next generation of sporting stars,
Budding athletes will have the the chance to be identified and nurtured by sports development experts.
The event will culminate in a special presentation ceremony, where participants will receive diplomas to recognise their enthusiasm and participation in the Olympic Day celebrations.
The event will be flagged off Engr. Habu Gumel, president of NOC.
This year’s Olympic Day holds just a few weeks before the opening of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The Games will be held from July 26 to Aug. 11, 2024.
