Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa made the remark at the 2024 down scaling of flood, Early Warning Strategies for Early Actions in Ondo state held in Akure.
The National Meteorological Agency Nimet flood outlook predicted Ondo state among the states to witness heavy Rainfall much more than that of 2023.
The National Emergency Management Agency NEMA were in ondo state to intimate the state government on the latest prediction about flooding and educate stakeholders on the development.
The Governor who was represented by his deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami expressed gratitude to the team from the National Emergency Management Agency for alerting the government early and assured the team of necessary preparedness in curbing flood disaster in the state.
Aiyedatiwa said the state government had done a lot by providing necessary equipment and machinery in clearing the water ways and drainages for free flow of water to the canals .
Responding, the Director General, National Emergency Management Agency, Zubaida Umar represented by the Director Special Duties Hajia Fatima Kassim for Ayedatiwa harps on Disaster management, Nimet Predict Heavy Rainfall.

She commended the state government for putting measures in place to reduce the flood incidences emphasizing that citizens should join hands with the government to mitigate flood disaster.
