The Ondo State House of Assembly has cleared three nominees as members of Ondo state civil service commission.
The nominees are Mr. Matthew Imoru – Akoko North/West Local Government, Mr. Iwabi T. Akpoebi – Ese-Odo Local Government and Mr. Sunday Agbotoba – Ose Local Government
Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa had on June 21st 2024 sent the names of the nominees to the house of assembly for screening and confirmation.
The nominees had earlier appeared before the Selection Committee of the House for screening.
Presenting the report of the Selection Committee at plenary, the Deputy Speaker, Prince Abayomi Akinruntan said the nominees were found to be competent, experienced and well exposed to serve as members of Ondo State civil service commission .
The lawmakers in an unanimous vote then confirmed the nominees.
In a remark , the speaker, Mr Olamide Oladiji congratulated and enjoined them bring their wealth of wisdom into civil service and work with the state governor to enhance the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
Responding on behalf of the nominated members Mr Matthew Imoru pledged to contribute their quota to the development of civil service in the state and cooperate with the governor to impact positively on the lives of the people and add value to the instrumentality of governance .
Mr Akpoebi and Mr. Agbotoba also pledged to bring sanity, discipline and accountability back to the civil service.
They all acknowledged that the the civil service was in need manpower and gave an assurance that only qualified candidates would be given employment in the service
