The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC says it has perfected soft loan arrangements with Central Bank Bank of Nigeria and other stakeholders such as Leventis Foundation and Kudimata to settle corps members upon the completion of the Skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development, SAED Programme
The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier Gen. Y D Ahmed made the announcement while addressing the 2024 Batch B Stream 1 corps members during a visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Iseyin Oyo State.
The NYSC DG, explained that with the new arrangement, Nigerian graduates would no longer be jobless as they would become self reliant after the completion of the one year mandatory service
Ahmed implored them to focus and take advantage of the Skill Acquisition programme of the Scheme, saying it was targeted at making them independent and self reliant.
“SAED is devised to make you independent adult,therefore support yourself with skills. Soft loans are available for you through our stakeholders as Central Bank, Leventis Foundation,Kudimata and some others if you can present a good business proposal.Take this opportunity so that you can prepare yourself for life after service “,he said.
The DG enjoined the Corps members to integrate with their host communities and respect their norms, charging them to abide by the rules of wearing the NYSC uniform, by ensuring that they always well dressed to Command respect.
Earlier, in his address, the NYSC Oyo State Coordinator, Mr. Odoba Abel Oche appreciated the DG for having the Corps members at heart.
Oche, informed the DG that the Corps members were well behaved and participated actively in all camp activities.
