Ondo state government has commenced the distribution of food commodities received from the federal government to the vulnerable in the state with sales of foods at cheaper rate across designated markets in the three senatorial districts.
The commissioner for agriculture , Mr Olayato Aribo announced this at a news briefing in Akure.
Mr Aribo disclosed that the food items had been shared across the eighteen local government areas of the state.
On other measures at ending food crisis in the state, Mr Aribo noted that the state government had identified neighborhood markets where foods would be sold at cheaper rate in the three senatorial districts.
In the meantime, the Ondo state government will commence repair of 20kilometer township roads across major towns of Ondo, Akure and Akoko axis.
The special adviser to the governor on infrastructure Mr Babalola Ayoade made this known at a briefing after the state executive council meeting.
Mr Ayoade noted that the state government was committed to making the state pothole free.
He added that installation of solar street lights would be extended to other parts of the state.
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner for Local Government , Alhaji Amidu Takuro has announced the appointment of three monarchs.
They are Prince Oladele Fredrick Akinmoye as the new Orungberuwa of Ode Erinje in Okitipupa council area , Prince Folorunsho Arasanye as the new Ajana-Afa of Oke-Agbe in Akoko North West and Prince Idris Femi as the new Gbiri of Epimi of Akoko in Akoko South East local government.
