Oakland Kids make waves in Ondo State examinations as they recorded 100% in Maths, English subjects.
Oakland Kids nursery and primary school, Oda Road, Akure has marked its 9th valedictory ceremony and end of session activities with fun fair as it graduated 14 nursery two pupils to primary one and ten primary five pupils to the outside world.
Three of the primary five pupils made hundred percent in mathematics and English subjects while the list pupil among the ten scored 80 percent above.
Addressing the congregation, the founder of the school, Brigadier General (rtd ) Joseph KOMOLAFE said he was happy that the school made a mark in the state’s examinations
Rtd Komolafe therefore advised the outgone pupils that success was a journey not a destination hence they should endeavour to achieve their great dreams.
He urged them to be always change agents in order to make differences in the society.
Rtd Joseph KOMOLAFE pointed out that to be at the top was not easy but he had put in place measures to addressing any problem that would force them to fall from the top.
“I feel highly elated today why because the pupils made me proud. The least score was 80.67% as I had somebody who scored hundred percent both in English and Mathematics. We will continue to open bigger door to accommodate positive criticisms that will make the school to excel because to get at the top is easier than staying at the top.”
Rtd Joseph KOMOLAFE however charged the parents to bring in additional pupils, apart from their families, to attract an incentive of ten thousand naira per child.
The Special guest of the occasion, the Oluyin of Iyin, Oba Adeola Ajakaiye pointed out that the school achieved the feat due to the discipline instilled on them by the school management.
Oba Ajakaiye said making hundred percent in those cure subjects by the pupils was a remarkable achievement hence he urged the school management to maintain the standards.
“This feat of making the best examinations result in the state had shown that it is a testament that the school is on the strong note both characterise wise because as a military man, he taught these students to be well disciplined academically.”
The chairman of the celebration, Mr Segun Oluwaji also urged the parents to always make sacrifices to fund their children education for their betterment.
Mr Oluwaji pointed out that those parents who undermined their children’s education but engaged in acquiring unnecessary things were at the risks to suffer at their old age.
“I grow up as having parents as illiterate and there were pressures by the society for my parents to buy aṣọ ebi. That time they were telling my mother that I did not have uniform, so I can’t join them. When I graduated with good results and started working, my parents benefitted immensely from their sacrifices they placed on me. Those people who prioritized aṣọ ebi to their children education suffered at their old age. So giving good education to your children is critical.”
The best student of the session, Miss Fikayomi Akinnuli placed her achievements on dedication to always reading her books.
Miss Akinnuli advised other pupils in the school to always study hard to achieve their goals as she commended the staff and management of the school for their thorough teachings.
“Being the best pupil of Oakland Kids nursery and primary school, I feel glad and happy about being the best student. There are a lot of things I will say about Oakland Kids nursery and primary school. Firstly it is the best school you can send your child to be educated because both academically and morally, your child will be taught and you will never regret it.”
The celebration attracted dignitaries from all works of life to include the Olomu of Ilomu Ekiti, Oba Oluwadamilare Omobire, the Commanding Officer 323 REGIMENT AKURE Lieutenant Colonel Umar Barua who represented the brigadier commander 32 brigade, parents among others.
The colourfully dressed graduating pupils filled out differently to entertain the audience with choreographic displays to celebrate their graduations.
The highlight of the celebration was presentation of awards to best pupils in the school.
