Residents of Ondo state today shunned the end bad governance protest as there were no agitators found on the streets.
Radio Nigeria Correspondent reports that businesses which were hitherto grounded in major towns of the state such as Akure, Owo, Akoko and Idanre later improved on hourly basis.
The improvement also affected movements of both privates and commercial vehicles while security operatives were seen parading some strategic locations.
Areas visited included Isikan roundabout, Okearo, Ijomimo, Cathedral, Ondo Road and Oyemekun road in Akure, Isalu and MTD junction in Idanre and Fajuyi, Ehin ogbe and Iyere in Owo where the atmosphere remained calm except for queues witnessed in few filling stations.
Some of the residents who spoke with Radio Nigeria said protest would worsen the current situation.
Mr Idowu Adewumi and Aremo Emmanuel however appealed to government to find timely solutions to economic and other problems confronting the citizenry.
A Former chairman, Ajeigboro-Isikan unit, drivers’ union, comrade Pius Godwin also demanded prompt reopening of borders and reduction in fuel costs.
The people urged all tiers of government to facilitate improved standard of living for hunger to vanish without further delay.
