The new Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, says she intends to work in unison with Permanent Secretaries, Directors and the entire civil servants to enable the service deliver on the renewed hope agenda.
She stated this in Abuja after she and her predecessor, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan visited President Tinubu to inform him of the handover of affairs to her.
Mrs. Walson-Jack expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for the confidence and trust he had reposed in her by appointing her as the Head of Service of the Federation.
“I see it as a divine assignment and I have the opportunity to assure Mr President that by the grace of God I will not disappoint him”, she pledged.
While giving gratitude to God for seeing her through her career successfully, the outgoing Head of Service, Dr. Yemi Esan, thanked President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve.
She appreciated the President for making the change of administrative baton between her and her successor seamless.
“The Head of Service had some weeks with me learning the ropes and I am sure by now she is ready to go and we thank Mr President for this”, she said.
Dr. Esan described the new Head of Service as an intelligent professional, hardworking, with a lot of empathy, who is capable of doing the work appreciably.
She reminded her successor to understand that civil service was the arm that would deliver on the President’s promises to the country, adding that she needs to ensure that the service is up and doing to ensure that promises were fulfilled.
