Civil servants in the country have been enjoined to plan effectively for a financially secure retirement life.
The chairman, Institute of cooperative professionals of Nigeria, COPRON, Ondo State Chapter, Comrade David Omotehinse gave the advice in Akure at a one day seminar organized for staff of Positive Fm Akure by Radio Nigeria staff investment and credit cooperative society limited.
Comrade Omotehinse who emphasized on the importance of planning for Retirement said joining a Cooperative Society was a great way to prepare for retirement and secure one’s financial Future.
He noted that this should be done from the first day of employment in other to ensure huge savings which they could invest in profitable ventures when they retire.
In a remark, the President of Radio Nigeria Staff investment and credit cooperative society limited, Mr Sunday Olowookere advised Cooperators in the corporation to increase their savings and desist from obtaining loans close to retirement to avoid repayment of such debt with their gratuities.
Earlier, the general manager, Radio Nigeria Positive FM Akure, Mrs Olubunmi Olalere represented by the head of engineering unit, Mr Steve Omonagbe appreciated the Radio Nigeria Cooperative society for training members on how to be economically buoyant in retirement.
The seminar with the theme, preparing for retirement, optimizing cooperative society opportunities also had in attendance the secretary of Radio Nigeria Cooperative society, Mr Moses Morenikeji.
