Ahead of gubernatorial election slated for November 16, this year in Ondo State, the Peoples Democratic Party has inaugurated its campaign council in Akure South local government.

 

The event took place at the residence of a foremost leader of the party in the state, Ambassador Omolade Oluwateru.

 

The well attended occasion attracted party leaders and over five hundred party loyalists, carefully selected to serve in various committees that would work assiduously for the party’s victory at the poll.

 

Speaking earlier, Akure South Peoples Democratic Party caretaker chairman, Hon. Busuyi Oladimeji charged party members to work as a team and accomplish the task saying victory was achievable for the party.

 

 

The State Party caretaker chairman, Rt.Hon. Bakkita Bello expressed optimism that PDP remains the party to beat in the coming election and that they would ensure that no stone is left unturned because the party has what it takes to win the gubernatorial election.

In his contribution, chairman PDP campaign council in Ondo State, Olorogun Eddy Olafeso opined that it is high time the good people of Ondo State embraced PDP having experienced disappointments from APC led administration in Ondo State

He reiterated that while PDP was at the helms of affairs in Ondo State people enjoyed better dividends of democracy compared with hunger, hardship, economic meltdown and insecurity  experienced under successive administrations.

The PDP’s candidate in the last governorship election, Balogun Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) described the candidate for this November poll, Hon Agboola Ajayi as an experienced politician who is capable of winning the forthcoming election urging party members to campaign vigorously for his emergence as the next Ondo State governor.

 

While addressing the mammoth crowd, former Deputy-Governor of the state and a member of BOT of the party, Ambassador Omolade Oluwateru expressed satisfaction with the commitment and dedication of party members in recent times, pledging to work assiduously in ensuring that PDP occupies government house at Alagbaka again.

 

He reiterated that APC led governments both at the national and state levels have disappointed Nigerians especially in Ondo State.

 

Otunba Oluwateru therefore enjoined the people of Ondo state to vote massively for PDP in the forth coming election so that citizens can enjoy from people oriented policies and programmes already designed by PDP.

 

Highlight of the occasion was the inauguration of the local government campaign council committee headed by former Akure South local government chairman, Dr. Tayo Olujuyigbe as Director General while Prince Ademola Babalola is the deputy director general.

Other party leaders in attendance included, Prince John Ola Mafo, special adviser on media and strategy to PDP gubernatorial candidate, Mr. Ayo Fadaka and members of state caretaker working committees.
