It was jubilation galore in the ancient town of Oba Akoko in Akoko Southwest local government area of Ondo State as a 60yr-old timber dealer, Mr Olupo Ogunjobi was rescued from his abductors by youths in the community.
Mr Ogunjobi was abducted on Sunday but was rescued from the forest by the combined efforts of youths in the community.
Our community reporter sighted hundreds of residents at the obas palace along the ever busy Owo-Ikare road celebrating the return of one of their own from the kidnappers den.
It was gathered that one of the suspected kidnappers was apprehended in the forest while trying to rescue Mr Ogunjobi.
Last week, one Yusuf Lateef and Akan Peti were also attacked on their way to their farm in Oba Akoko and were stabbed in many places.
Efforts to speak with the divisional police officer Dpo, in Oba Akoko were unsuccessful.
