Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has again called on Nigerians to keep hope alive for a more prosperous country.
The governor spoke at the event commemorating the 64th independence anniversary of Nigeria, held at the Gani Fawehimi freedom arcade in Akure.
Governor Aiyedatiwa commended Nigeria’s founding fathers and others for their patriotism and the sacrifices made to uphold the nation despite numerous political and security challenges.
The governor said that President Bola Tinubu was implementing policies in line with the renewed hope agenda of his administration which was already yielding results, urging everyone to support the president for more success.
He disclosed that deliberate actions were being taken to utilize the natural and human resources in Ondo state for its development and appealed for peaceful conduct ahead of the election.
Speaking with Radio Nigeria,two residents, Mr Adebayo Lawal and Madam Deborah Ibidapo urged governments at all levels to speed up policies to ease the various challenges facing Nigerians.
The governor later inspected a guard of honor by the Nigerian police followed by a march past by different artisan groups, state workers, students and a cultural display.
Some of the dignitaries who graced the colourful ceremony included the deputy governor Dr Olayide Adelami, political appointees, heads of security agencies in the State, religious and traditional rulers led by the chairman of Ondo state obas council and the Deji of Akure Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo.
