Members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in their thousands on Monday defied the rain for a walk covering over twenty kilometres across major roads of Akure, the Ondo State capital.

The trek tagged, “WALK FOR AGBO” was organised by Akure PDP Campaign Council to sensitise the electorate about the manifestos of its gubernatorial candidate, Mr Agboola Ajayi

 

The walk monitored by security personnel including road safety officials led to a long traffic jam following the massive turnout of PDP members.

Addressing the party faithful, former PDP State chairman, Chief Clement Faboyede and other members decried the level of poverty and hunger in Ondo State

The party also described as unfortunate how Ondo State which was once the cleanest state in Nigeria was suddenly ranked the 30th in the country under the APC administration.

 

In a remark, the party’s governorship candidate, Mr Ajayi, encouraged the state’s residents to remain united and work for the victory of the PDP to address hunger and poor infrastructure in the State

Party leaders at the walk included former deputy governor in the state, Ambassador Omolade Oluwateru, chairman, Ondo State PDP Campaign council, Chief Eddy Olafeso, DG Akure South campaign council, Mr Tayo Olujuyigbe and a Party chieftain from Akure, Mr Babatunde Faro.
