Public officials, including members of the Federal Executive Council, National Assembly, and Judicial workers, are now required to study the National Value Charter as part of their pre-resumption orientation.

This decision was announced by the Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr. Lanre Onilu, during a briefing in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State.

The Federal Executive Council has also mandated the inclusion of the charter in the curriculum of both basic and post-basic schools.

Additionally, the council has approved the establishment of the National Values Brigade in primary and secondary schools across the country, aiming to instill national values in Nigerian children.

Citizenship study will also become a compulsory component of the educational system from primary to secondary school levels.

Furthermore, the council has approved the nationalization of cartoon content in Nigeria to promote local values, cultures, and lifestyles.

This move is intended to support local cartoon content creators and develop the animation movie sub-sector.

The council has also endorsed the global implementation of the campaign for national reputation management as part of the National Identity project.

Furthermore, the War Against Indiscipline (WAI) Brigade will be renamed Citizens Value Brigade.

Moreover, Value Orientation will be made a compulsory component of the one-year mandatory national youth service, with the NOA collaborating with the NYSC to instill national values in fresh graduates.

An implementation committee for the National Identity project has also been approved, comprising government officials, private sector players, traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society organizations, youth, and women groups.

This committee will be co-chaired by a representative of the federal government and private sector, with the NOA serving as the secretariat.

After the press conference, there was an interactive session with major stakeholders, including traditional rulers, security chiefs, members of the NYSC, and civil society organizations.
