The Ondo State Security Network codenamed Amotekun Corps has rescued five kidnapped travellers who were abducted last week on Ifon-Ipele-Owo highway.
The Security network also arrested 14 suspects including kidnappers and three Herdsmen who gang-raped a 75yr-old grandmother at Ifira Akoko on her way from farm.
The State Commander of Ondo State Amotekun Corps, Chief Adetunji Adeleye made this known in Akure while parading the suspects linked with different offences in the state.
Chief Adeleye pointed out that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and security operatives in the state were working round the clock to tackle influx of bandits into the state, which had caused increase in the number of kidnap cases in Ondo State lately.
On the Students and farmers abducted near Akure Airport last weekend, the Amotekun Commander said his men and other security agents are current on the trail of the kidnappers to rescue the victims unhurt.
In an interview, two of the rescued victims, lamented they only took water for five days they spent in the kidnappers den.
