The summit, which was the fourth under the current administration, was well-attended by chairpersons and secretaries from all Southwest States and presided over by Vice Chairperson, Comrade Adeola Adekunle Omosola.
1. Leveraging on the theme “Women as Catalysts in Nigeria’s Path to Progress,” NAWOJ B Zone commends the Ekiti State Governor, Gov Banji Oyebanji for appointing more women in his administration and urged other states to emulate this in the interest of gender development.
2. The association encourages women to venture into politics and support the ambitions of fellow women.
3. NAWOJ B Zone notes with dismay the high prevalence of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the country and enjoins NAWOJIANS to speak out and report cases, even in the line of duty. They called for the speedy prosecution of GBV offenders.
4. The Zone appeals to Southwest Governors to ensure the full implementation of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Law in their respective states and to pay more attention to the plight of women and girls, regardless of their class or status.
5. On Infrastructural Development, the association also calls for the total rehabilitation of the Aramoko/Efon-Alaye/Ado Ekiti road and the Ikere/Ado Ekiti road to facilitate easy transportation and refuse the high rate of accident on the road.
