The Zonal Director, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, Mr Dominic Mokikan says organisations and individuals should continue to partner the station for unforgettable experience.
Mr. Mokikan gave the assurance at the 2025 Appreciation day organised by the News Dept and held at Studio one, Broadcasting Dugbe, Ibadan.
The Zonal Director maintained that Radio Nigeria, Ibadan have a wider reach in the southwest and would disseminate information to the nooks and crannies of the zone.
He lauded the invaluable contributions of members of the public to the station including their unwavering support even in time of challenges experienced by the foremost broadcast station.
In an address of welcome, the deputy director news and current affairs department, Mr. Adewumi Faniran while appreciating guests for honouring the department, assured them that the station would always disseminate unbiased and factual news to the public.
Earlier, a special editorial conference was held for the retiring General Manager, Paramount FM, Abeokuta, Mr Akinyinka Akintola.
Mr Akintola, who was visibly elated, thanked the News management and staff for honouring him.
Highlight of the event was presentation of Award to deserving recipients, including Osun State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Reverend Bunmi Jenyo and member representing Iwo-Ayedire-Olaoluwa constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr Lukman Mudashiru popularly called L and k.
Other award recipients are, the Olupo of Olupona, Oba AbdulRafiu Oyekanmi and zonal youth leader, Southwest, Miyetti Allah cattle breeders association of Nigeria, MACBAN, Alhaji Aliyu Saliu.
Speaking on behalf of the award recipients, Reverend Bunmi Jenyo lauded the immeasurable contributions of Radio Nigeria, ibadan to the society.
The event was spiced up by FRCN, News cultural group and rendition of Ewi by Abeni Ewi.
Special recognition was accorded to retired staff of the corporation including Pastor Dare Olorunfemi, Elder Aderenle Ajisefini, Mr Ayodele Aliyu, Alhaji Bashir Omotosho, Deacon Femi Oladipo, Pastor Tunji Ogungbade, Mr Steven James.
Representatives of present and past chairmen of Nigeria Union of journalists, Oyo state Council and Chairperson, Nigeria Association of Women of Journalist, Mrs Omolola Alamu were in attendance.
