Situation around the palace of Oloba of Oba-Ile in Akure North Council in Ondo state remains calm following the passage of Oba Joseph Oluwadare Agunbiade.

The monarch who reigned for 39yrs reportedly joined his ancestors on Friday morning at the age of 84yrs.

When Positive FM visited the ancient town, shops and businesses within the palace area were shut while in other parts of the town, people went about their normal businesses.

It was also observed that traditional rites had commenced as palmfronds adorned strategic places in the town, especially major entrances.
