The Ministers of Education of ECOWAS member States have been advised to promote innovation, and youth entrepreneurship in West African sub-region.
This is one of the recommendations of the African Forum for Research and Innovation (FARI 2025), which took place in Cotonou.
The members of the Scientific Committee led by former Minister of Education of Côte d’Ivoire, Professor Saliou TOURE, made the recommendations targeted at improving future editions of the creativity event in West Africa.
The event also focused on science, technology, and innovation, particularly highlighting the contributions of young Africans within the region.
Member States were also asked to strengthen young people’s entrepreneurial skills in emerging fields, facilitate access to finance by drawing on available mechanisms and opportunities to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, and set up special programmes for women and young people with disabilities to ensure equitable participation in innovation and entrepreneurship.
