Ahead of Saturday governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ondo state, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has passionately appealed to other contestants to shun campaign of calumny and maintain peace before, during and after the exercise.

The governor made the appeal while speaking with newsmen after visiting the ancient palace of Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye as part of his local governments tour ahead of the primary election.

The governor who had already toured fifteen out of the eighteen local government areas of the state urged his co-aspirants to show the spirit of sportsmanship and support whoever emerged from the Saturday’s primaries.

He said his ambition to continue beyond 2025 was to ensure continuity in rapid development and purposeful leadership for in the state.

Addressing party supporters at the Methodist primary school field, where some PDP members defected to APC , Governor Aiyedatiwa urged them to come out in large number on Saturday to support him.

He, however, dispelled insinuation that he abandoned ongoing projects in Owo, the home town of his former boss, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, stressing that he had ordered all contractors back to site.

Earlier, at the palace of Olubaka of Oka in Akoko south west local government, were he met with monarchs led by the Olubaka of Oka, Oba Yusuf Adebori-Adeleye, governor Aiyedatiwa promised to revive all tourist sites across the state to boost its economy.

The governor also met with party members in Ifon and some monarchs in Ose local government where he solicited their support ahead of Saturday’s primary election.

Many APC Chieftains were on the governor’s entourage.
